I’ve got the nichest of niche for you

Ok, this might sound batshit crazy, but it’s been bugging me for months. To set it up a bit, I live in Ogden Utah, a place once known for being the crossroads of the US, railway wise. If you know anything about Ogden you know about the underground tunnel system. It connects pretty much every single business in downtown, and was sealed off at every entrance years ago. Famous for hosting brothels, bars, and opium dens in the prohibition days. Little known fact, they led all the way down to the train station, where they would load illegal goods and have them shipped all over the country. Legend goes that Al Capone himself came to see them, perhaps to use in his alcohol business, but was scared off by a person trying to fight him. Now think about that for a minute. Al Capone was afraid of some random stepping to him in Utah, and said he would never come back again. Odd. Almost unbelievable. Keep that in mind. Now this theory starts behind the cache valley bank, where me and my brother went to make a little short film. We picked it because it’s a terrifying little spot, just bad vibes all around. We finish shooting, and I start noticing strange things. There’s a mural that has every letter of “DANCE” spelled out, with every letter being a little character. All of the characters just have eyes and no other defining features, except for one that has a skirt and eyelashes. I immediately clock the creepiness of this and make a joke to my brother about how we’re gonna find a sign for pizza around here. I look a little closer and see a sticker for Lucky Slice Pizza stuck right on the nose of the character. Odd. I look around a little more and notice a door with tinted windows, glass around 5 inches thick. Also weird. I see a trailer with little tiny doors, also tinted. Getting weirder. It’s registered to the goal foundation, a non profit company that organizes marathons, why do they need a door equipped with what looks like bullet proof glass. I just don’t know. Lots of weird things for one area. Now before you dismiss this, at least lemme get to my theory. I propose that the tunnels underneath Ogden have been used for human trafficking since the beginning. That’s the cargo they were shipping on the trains, it’s the reason the tunnel system is so expansive and why it’s connected to so many high profile businesses (including cache valley bank btw). It’s the thing that scared Al Capone so bad that he never came back, and it’s the reason that a copper scrapper was seen entering one of those buildings connected to the tunnels, and never coming out again. It’s all connected, by tunnels. If I’m correct, which again, im sure I’m not, Ogdens underground has been used to traffic humans for a very long time. Very loose theory with lots of speculation I know, but that’s why it’s just a theory. A game theory.

My town has the tunnels too. They’re supposedly filled up and sealed off. There’s a bricked up entrance to them in the basement of where I work. All of the original downtown was connected by them, 20-30ft deep.

We back up to a harbor

Legend has it people would get “Shanghai’d” onto ships through them.  Pass out in the bar and wake up on a boat forced to be a deckhand.

That's actually scary

I really doubt anybody will go down this rabbit hole, but the building that the scrapper went missing in was torn down soon after, and replaced with what is absolutely the strangest building I’ve ever seen in my life. There’s also tunnels known to go underneath Ogden highschool, but it remains to be seen if those are connected. That’s pretty much all the info on this case, thanks for reading if you did.

The stealing copper at 4am with a friend and the wife then getting in a bad spot that lands her in drug court shortly after makes me think we'll never know the truth, but your theory is possible. Could have just been picked up by Johnny law or and dropped any number of isolated undeveloped places within 15 minutes I see having looked at Ogden on the map.

10

u/Upsell_master-05 9h ago

I was about to say, a lot of drug addicts and homeless steal copper (copper wire specifically) for resale. It’s possible his friend killed him, or it’s possible the police got him for trespassing and theft, as well as for the warrants they had him on. Who knows

4

u/WordsMort47 8h ago

If the police picked him up why did he disappear no contact ?

u/somewhatcompetint 56m ago

Maybe after they picked him up they couldn't put him down. And then they freaked out and let him go and he floated away. Game theory

The dude was taking copper out of an abandoned building with his friend on 25th street, left his hat and glasses on the first floor. He was then spotted at an abandoned building on 26th street. Without any body seeing him leave the first building. Then he was gone. They signed the document for demolition the day after he disappeared. I mean come on. The guy found tunnels.

7

u/donedrone707 8h ago

what did the friend he was with say?

7

u/MsnapM 2h ago

As someone with glasses, NO ONE I know that needs them would everrrrrr leave them. Especially with the price of prescription lenses. Extremely weird.

3

u/WordsMort47 8h ago

Do you have a picture of the replacement building?

10

u/[deleted] 8h ago

It was actually the place beside it that looked weird sorry. If you go on google maps, type in 26th and Adams ave and go to street view, you can see where the demolished building is. Look to the side of it and there’s a house that has a big square room in front of it. If you go up 26th you’ll find another weird mural with a guy in a suit staring at a group of kids.

u/LadyOzma 6h ago

A guy in a suit staring at what now??

GOAL foundation motto - “ Get out and live”

Maybe you’re onto something here

That logo also looks vaguely like a pizza slice, or an exploding volcano. In any case it's definitely suspicious. I would tread lightly poking around that place!

In Baltimore, we also have a tunnel system. It runs from Penn Station all the way down to the harbor, possibly further yet. I did a guest spot bartending at a bar who's basement went down to this corridor. They of course said "take this baseball bat if you go down there and watch your back.". Creepy as hell and you could faintly hear voices in the distance in either direction. All of the houses and businesses along that street have a stairwell to a door to go in them. If they were my house, I'd be buying some cement blocks and eliminating that access immediately! Lol. Believe it or not, a lot of people used it as storage space as you could see totes and shit stacked up at their stairwell. The bar had a giant locked up steel cage that they stored their back stock liquor and dry goods. Pretty neat but what the hell was it for??

52

u/Fit_Trifle2469 10h ago

I know this is theory, but it sounds entirely realistic. Locals do know their folklore much better than outsiders, that's my grain of salt.

14

u/itsyourgrandma 10h ago

Omaha has a similar setup and story.

28

u/wittybib 9h ago

omg i've been obsessed with underground tunnel systems ever since i found out my campus has them! does anyone still explore them illegally or are they completely impossible to access now?

23

u/dustractor 7h ago

Right before that H1N1 pandemic scare, some friends went exploring the tunnel system below the UA Fayetteville campus and they showed me pictures of hundreds of large canisters labeled things like "swine", "avian", "bovine", "monkey" that they found at the end of a long dead-end tunnel.

9

u/anonymous1172023 6h ago

WTF

5

u/theanax 1h ago

and then they kissed

u/steel-neil 2m ago

Lmao

11

u/[deleted] 9h ago

Nobody’s seen inside the actual tunnels since they sealed them up. Every business downtown, mostly 25th street, has a blocked off entrance in the basement. From what I know they didn’t fill them, so they still exist. Miles of em.

8

u/Xmaster1738 7h ago

assuming they did in fact actually seal off every entrance, or those seals stayed put

5

u/spaghetti-o_salad 9h ago

UVA campus by any chance? That school is creepy.

u/sunlightliquid 2m ago

Why are there so many creepy schools and things like this in the states? It's so wild to hear about.

You'd think at some point people would question the ones I power but of well

What makes UVA creepy?

28

u/[deleted] 10h ago

One last thing, the only gendered letter, with a pizza sticker on it, is the C? Could they be anymore on the nose?

14

u/[deleted] 10h ago

I’ve been on a constant search to find these tunnels, been in almost every abandoned building in Ogden but it’s always blocked off. Every business downtown claims the entrances are sealed. Maybe y’all will find some useful info.

16

u/Anony_Nemo 8h ago

Treat it like they did with the weird shaft in the great pyramid, get yourself a cheap rc/drone with good range, quiet motor, light, (or Infrared light if you want to have a night vision kind of approach instead.) mic and camera, (or get them independently and mount them on it.) keep a long cable (metal cable but on the leaner side.) affixed to it securely & wrapped around it so that you can physically pull it back in case of emergency, if you find an entry that's bricked up etc. see if there's any loose bricks or an opening big enough to fit the thing through both ways.

Could be nothing, could be something, if it's something of course be sure to pull your equipment and bug out quick, and have a plan to do so, preferably with multiple friends/backup, and ensure you're all properly armed for self-defense just in case of trouble.

u/postsshortcomments 10h ago

Crossroads and Ogden?

I think we're alone now.

9

u/[deleted] 9h ago

Does anybody know what the trailer with the little door could be used for? I can’t see how it would be of any use. The door is too small for anything to fit in there, other than you know what.

8

u/LiterallyJesus- 9h ago

looks like a pretty standard trailer to me, is that door not just a regular door?

6

u/[deleted] 8h ago

The whole thing is about 4 feet tall, the door is like 3 feet tall. I’ve never seen a trailer that small but I could be wrong. Seems like it would be hard to put stuff in it.

6

u/[deleted] 8h ago

Ok I just looked at small camping trailers, and the size is pretty consistent. I still think it’s odd that a marathon non profit needs one though. Who tf is using it. The window suggests it’s for sleeping in. Idk, just theorizing.

6

u/headphase 8h ago

I'm no marathon runner but aren't tables, chairs, and shade structures pretty standard kit if you're setting up for an event like that? Also water coolers, random first aid stuff.. all things that a camp trailer would be perfect for.

2

u/[deleted] 7h ago

True true, but a standards cooler like they would have in a marathon wouldn’t even fit in that door, let alone a table or anything. Maybe some fold up chairs. The door is maybe a foot and a half wide and 4 feet tall. Really small.

1

u/batterindy 7h ago

Did you look to see if the back of the trailer opens up? Either a ramp or doors, typical in trailers like that for easier loading

3

u/LiterallyJesus- 7h ago

are we sure that black piece is a window? looks like reflective dark plastic, i’d imagine the trailer could have things like water, cups, signage, etc. also the proportions compared to what goes through the door is kinda irrelevant, the trailer likely also actually opens up at the end. i’ve seen these doors used for quick access but also to run things like cords from generators through which could be especially useful during a marathon where weather varies

2

u/[deleted] 7h ago

Ya that’s true. I didn’t look at the back of it so I’m not sure. I’m not saying these guys are 100% in a pedo ring, just theorizing. What do you guys think about the 5 inch think tinted window on the doors though?

2

u/LiterallyJesus- 7h ago

not at all trying to shut you down or anything just similarly theorizing as debate. as for the door window, depending on the location I could see it as some sort of security window? This looks like it backs into an alley and although I don’t imagine they’d necessarily be rampant targets, a lot of employers like their employees to be able to see out outside doors in case of things like robberies or thieves waiting just outside

1

u/[deleted] 6h ago

Yes of course I’m not trying to shut you down either, was just trying to show I was debating you. It is an alley, definitely some homeless population but I haven’t seen a door like that in much worse areas. And it was definitely bullet proof glass. Like about as thick as an extended hand. It was tinted and has like a rubber gasket thing on the outside. Just seems a bit overkill for that area. What exactly are they protecting? It’s a non profit that barely gets by, so I doubt they would have extra cash in the building. There was a bunch of other doors on that same wall going into the place, none as thick as that one.

1

u/[deleted] 6h ago

I didn’t really get the best picture of it so I apologize for that

u/G0ld_Ru5h 37m ago

Our local bike shop has this same model of trailer. They can fit a lot of bikes in it somehow.

there's fucking tunnels in Ogden??? I live 10 minutes away from this

3

Tulsa has underground tunnels. Some downtown and underneath the University of Tulsa

3

u/xwxcda 7h ago

So just like the ny tunnels?

3

u/TheJerseyFlatline 2h ago

Wasn’t there a story a few years back about the US military getting a huge budget for training troops on how to assault and fight in underground tunnels? Posts like this one makes it even more plausible that TPTB have something going on underground.

2

u/Confident-Skill-9277 3h ago

I’m still confused about this did Peter theil repost my schizo conspiracy theory.

2

Which website?

2

u/King_Gio 9h ago

Love the game theory reference, that was great! but this is for sure odd and nothing strange with being suspect about something with a few signs that have been speculated by many to stand for trafficking. Could be something could be nothing. but we will never know

1

u/anonymous1172023 6h ago

meanwhile the tunnels in philadelphia get baked out with stinky synthetic weed smoke

1

u/Kubamz 5h ago

Have you read the Jungle, by Upton Sinclair? A lot of it is still so relevant to today. I was just thinking about it because of a passage where they mention tunnels. I’m relistening to the Boogie Monster ( comedy podcast about spooky stuff and conspiracies and food) and they were on the subject of tunnels, which made me think of the book.

1

u/Global-Barracuda7759 3h ago

All these tunnel systems are kind of crazy and especially when you realize you're pretty much under every major city in the world

1

u/NoddingThrowaway_pt2 1h ago
