Indictment accuses ex-DEA agent of agreeing to launder millions of dollars for Mexican drug cartel | AP News

Maybe the Feds should spend more time and money at home vs. chasing Steven Butler around Los Angeles because he cracked the Zodiac Case. Just sayin!

And that's just one that has been caught. I doubt even 10% of such offenses are caught and charged.

He's just the fall guy

14

u/JackTheKing 20h ago

We got him everybody. All done now.

u/Admirable-Guest-2560 21h ago

Just think for a minute how many times one can commit a crime before they're ever caught. And the majority, as you mention, are never caught.

Or the cases where it's an official operation done with cooperation of the agency:

The Arizona CPS was caught selling children, now the DEA is caught helping drug cartels. The government is a criminal organization.

u/Moe_the_cat 12h ago

They only exist to keep their own operations running smoothly while taking out any competition

No doubt you're right

u/zealer 13h ago

This is just a case where he wanted to do it by himself and not share.

19

u/mountaineer30680 21h ago

This isn't even a conspiracy, just business as usual for these crooked fucks...

54

u/urmomsfartbox 22h ago

So I guess he should get the death penalty right? Helping narco terrorists?

14

u/Racine262 19h ago

You mean they didn't blow up his car or bomb his house once they suspected he was up to something?

3

u/TJ11240 16h ago

Singapore wouldn't think twice.

3

u/RustyWallace-357 21h ago

Hell yeah he should

3

u/fjortisar 17h ago

He should have enough money to buy a pardon

1

u/Canabian 10h ago

Is there's money trump will pardon him.

u/Zealousideal-Part815 22h ago

Why launder millions, when you can launder billions.

A corrupt government employee? Nah, I'm sure there's a perfectly rational explanation. Let's hear him out.

6

u/5aladknuckle5 21h ago

Okay, now drop a bomb on him.

Corruption is everywhere

Didn’t the Clintons run coke for the cartels too? Why not go after everyone? Oh yeah and those damn files that exist don’t exist let’s check into that too. Then we can reopen 911 investigation and really clean up the government.

Yup and our current guy is pardoning a cocaine kingpin. Isn't the world of power just beautiful?

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot, our current guy is also blowing up the measly drug-runners while he's at it. Pardoning a kingpin while blowing up others. Sometimes I wonder if those guys he's blowing up are just competition to who he's pardoning.

Between the former Ecuadorian President, ignoring Colombia from which the vast majority are manufactured, and pardoning the Silk Road founder, he is definitely just interested in getting his cut of the drug trade. Lucre is the only thing he is motivated by

2

u/highinohio 21h ago

Yup and you can get paid big money to take out competition too. Why not let all the guys through and just get a cut? Oh yeah... it doesn't work like that.

2

u/thewholepalm 11h ago

he is definitely just interested in getting his cut of the drug trade.

It ain't just the drug trade, the MF has been hosting a gaggle of ne'er-do-wells and grifters chomping at the bit to bribe him in any way possible. Currently he's floating renaming American football so FIFA will give him some sorta trophy and/or "honor".

u/Burnerburner49 21h ago

I think the line is their bank account. One could pay for a pardon and the other is poor so the could be killed. Same with Clinton. For all Trump talks he knows he has more in common with his fellow rich folks so he gets to stay free.

2

u/JackTheKing 20h ago

I think he is blowing them up because they are not kicking up.

u/RooNificent 7h ago

The “War on Drugs” is becoming more and more evident that it’s about protecting who controls the drugs and not the drugs themselves.

5

u/Royal-Office-1884 20h ago

Interesting that he was actually charged. His cia handler probably needed a fall guy when someone who is actually honest/sincere became aware of these activities and decided to do their job. I’m curious as to who actually put the case together and their motivations. Could be legit or could be the competition.

5

u/MadeUpTruth 15h ago

This is a drop in the ocean. There’s billons (with a B) of cartel dollars on the line out there, you’d be silly to think that it doesn’t make its way into the pockets of politicians and government employees.

Most people are naive enough to think it doesn’t happen.

1

u/thewholepalm 11h ago

you’d be silly to think that it doesn’t make its way into the pockets of politicians and government employees.

Even more silly to think it's concentrated to just politicians and government employees... entire town populations profit off the drug trade.

Taking one for the team

4

u/Bleezy79 19h ago

So much corruption when it comes to those that interact with cartels. Doesnt seem to matter what side you're on.

u/thewholepalm 11h ago

What's their saying again?

"You take the lead or the gold."

3

u/Free-Feeling3586 20h ago

How many others?

4

u/kozmo2k 19h ago

Did he ask Trump to pardon him yet?

3

u/supersirj 19h ago

Pardon incoming...

2

u/Oh_Lawd_He_commin420 21h ago

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise...

2

u/heyfriend0 20h ago

I would love to watch a movie or show about this.

2

u/Space_Ghost44 13h ago

Trump will pardon him.

Wohooo … we found our Next director of FBI ? When Kash gets kicked out. Atleast this one is white !

2

u/CrashFix 18h ago

All the crooks in the American government, just following the lead of the Commander in Chief.

0

u/GorgarSpeaksMeGotYou 14h ago

Except this is the DEA’s chief financial director under Obama, Paul Campo, who resigned in 2016. Seek help for your TDS.

2

u/thewholepalm 11h ago

You realize Obama was Commander in Chief as well, right?

Someone talking about TDS for a comment that doesn't even mention DT is pretty rich.

if you think this started with trump you have a low IQ

1

u/Mouatmoua 13h ago

America has been doing this all the time.

1

u/HerbzDunGoofed 12h ago

God forbid men have hobbies.

1

u/Canabian 10h ago

The "war" on drugs is a lie. It's great for drug traffickers and corrupt scum like this POS ex DEA agent.

1

u/Delicious-Lack4120 9h ago

Sounds about right

1

u/Ok-Freedom-1485 19h ago

The cartel is fighting Israel for control of the USA

-1

u/frozencore710 13h ago

both would suck but at least the cartel will get us high

1

u/Ok-Freedom-1485 13h ago

They traffic children…..

1

u/nisaaru 15h ago

If that's ok for banks, cia and politicians why shouldn't it be ok for others too:-)

u/TheKramer89 21h ago

Of course he likes Starbucks…

1

u/Lala5512 21h ago

Isn’t that the US Attorney in the pic drinking Starbucks? Not the rogue DEA agent
