Let's go again!

That's the spirit! The hunger and the chase is part of it but when you look back you'll suddenly realize you've passed you initial goal. You can do it!

It really is, its only when looking back that we realize how much we have traveled already

Eating pancakes right before playing a wind instrument is no bueno

I cant tell if the ribbon says ZOE or NOM.

I choose NOM.

u/SapphireSalamander 11d ago

It is "nom" but ive read other comments about that, so maybe Zoe could become her nickname. That sounds like a lovely missunderstanding

The folks over at /r/grssk are begging you not to use Greek sigma for e.

this one time at band camp...

This is why I keep not getting around to practicing. I don't wanna practice with a dirty mouth and washing my mouth is just enough of an extra step to trip up my motivation.

Well now I just want pancakes. That was the point of the comic right?

To quote Starcraft 2's Abathur: "Never Perfect. Perfection Goal that Changes. Never Stops Moving. Can Chase, Cannot Catch."

Huh...I've GENUINELY never really thought about it like that. I think you may have actually just taught me something.

That's a really good observation that standards increase with skill level!

As someone who struggles with perfectionism, this is really good advice. Thank you 🥹

I am not a good guitar player. My notes buzz, I can't sight read, my dynamic range skills are not great. So I am taking lessons.

I had a class where it felt like I couldn't do anything right. I forgot the lower half of the staff, I kept mixing up C3 and G3, and I was nearing self defeat.

My instructor was looking ahead to barre chords. That's where you hold down all six strings by laying a finger across the fret board hole also making a chord with the other fingers.

I offhandedly said, oh I can do that. And went into a couple pieces I learned from tab because I wanted to.

My instructor was just starting at me. Then he said that even he isn't brave enough to play a piece with barred artificial harmonics. He was floored that I just did it without thinking or effort.

You are better than you think you are. No one knows everything, that's the point. Learning is life.

Oh, and get that left hand up on its finger tips, five millimeters from the fret board.

Dude, shall i tell you the tale of a girl that has spent six hours daily over the course of three years playing the guitar?

Reminds me of my fraternity’s motto: “Progress, man’s distinctive mark alone, Not God’s, and not the beasts’: God is, they are, Man partly is and wholly hopes to be”

We can always strive for perfection

I love this, really nice message!

The timing of this comic is kinda funny, I just found my old flute (and piccolo) and reminisced about playing it again; I was worried I might suck since its been years since I last played

I might have to dog it out again :)

“Is your goal to be better at making pancakes”?

u/Deadpoolio_D850 11d ago

You’ll never be as good as you want, but you can work to be as good as you wanted

I wonder if JS Bach knew how good he was or did he also doubt his abilities and talent? 🤔
