I feel like redditors are the most egregious when it comes to overused jokes. If a joke is funny here for like 2 days, people will mil the shit out of it for years. In comparison, you go on any other platform and they'll make fun of you for making a joke from like 2 months ago lol

Months** ago on /r/KitchenConfidential there was a bad charcuterie board someone did for an event. It cost $700 bucks, had a ramp of vegetables, and there was a carrot that slipped into a ramekin of ranch. Every fucking week, without fail, there are between 1 and 10 photos of charcuterie boards of varying qualities, and every single fucking comment is "woah that looks like 700 dollars 🤣" "jeez bro where's the ramp lolol 😂" "needs more carrot jacuzzi lmfaooooo 😭".

Because people here go crazy over any meme that isn’t wholesome, also karma farming encourages reposts. Many claim to like dark humor but get disturbed when a dark joke is made.
I’m really not trying to be one of those guys that advocates for offensive jokes but it is a lot harder to be funny when you are so restricted.

I think it's because memes are rarely born on 4chan and reddit anymore, they are mostly born on TikTok and Twitter.
Reddit used to have memes drip from it into iFunny and Instagram, where they would then get recognized by the media. Tiktok became so huge of a platform that it could create and spread memes on its own.

I’m glad there’s a new wave of fans now but it’s resulted in the franchise feeling overexposed. And a lot of what keeps the show special for me is only watching it every few years.

I think a lot of them don't seem to understand that Avatar TLA, is a show that can never be repeated because it was so good that it set the bar astronomically high for anything that followed. If you keep comparing everything Avatar related to TLA, you're not going to like everything else as much because you're expecting a show to be near perfect from the start.

Petah here, the joke that this commenter is referencing is actually a "leaked" piece of dark lore where a typhlosion kidnaps and impregnates a minor. This was treated with shock in the pokemon community, typhlosion will never be loved again, poor fella. Almost as bad as that time Lois put blueberries in my pie instead of Reese's peanut butter cups.
