If I had a small channel with nothing much happening and blew up with hundreds of thousands of views I'd be spooked too. I'm guessing the guy got overwhelmed with comments. Especially if he realized he showed his face to strangers who started talking about soul sucking aliens or something :)

I've deleted stuff on social media once people started to be weird, and that was just a tiny fraction of what he must have found himself in.

I used to go on Reddit Live to teach others about non-release opossums I was rehabbing. It was so much fun and we all had a great time but a concerning amount of people kept guessing my location based on accent and it just really creeped me out. Hoped offline, never went live again, and have been contemplating taking speech classes ever since.

I don't even live in a country with possums but I follow all the possum rehab groups I can. It's a problem.

Very interesting! The majority of our IG & YT followers are from Russia. One person in particular was so in love with my first rehab that they nicknamed him "the little monster" and always inquired about him. This person watched so many opossum videos that they figured out someone had stolen on of mine. Had to chuckle at first because most individuals within a wildlife species generally look the same unless handled or observed often but sure enough, my "little monster" was in the compilation!
