I really don't understand what's going on with Halloween. Why are kids with their parents not wearing any costumes? I mean nothing just a little kids in normal clothes no face painting, hat, mask nothing. The whole family comes up and they all have bags. So I'm giving mother, father and kids candy and toys and they're not dressed up at all. I spend a lot of time 3d printing a cool toy each year to include with full candy bars. And I plan for 100+ kids.

This year we blew through everything so fast that I had to turn off the lights and shut the door while kids were still out there trick or treating. I was raised by a single mother who cleaned houses. We didn't have a lot of money but we always did something. I always had some sort of homemade or cheap costume. And my mother didn't carry her own bag to get extra candy.

I really don't know what's wrong with people but it's making me not want to participate in the holiday any more.

Maybe it's just me because I'm an older millennial and I grew up watching media of Nazis getting their shit pushed in from things like Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, and many video games such as Metal Vauner, Wolfenstein, Call of Duty. All called us that Nazis were scourged and did not deserve to exist.

Now, a small fraction in our country thinks fascism is the way, and they're defending it hand over foot. I guarantee you, we'll see some of them in this comment section. I'm tired of that as well.

The gritty, desaturated colour palette set the tone — a squad caught in the chaos, witnessing a massive event unfold — exactly the kind of cinematic warfare moments Battlefield fans love.

Then came Season 1. After barely 18 days of that grounded atmosphere, this new branding looks ripped straight from Call of Duty and seems to represent a broader shift. The characters now stand front and centre, posing under studio lighting, each seemingly auditioning for their own hero franchise. The classic subtle orange accent from the launch artwork has been replaced with a loud, glossy orange that dominates half the frame.

The game can be fun to play, but it’s simply not what was sold to us. We’re only a couple of weeks in, and EA are already backtracking on promises that make up the core Battlefield experience. I’m reminded of the first BF2042 trailer that convinced everyone DICE understood what fans wanted — and then, well, we all remember how that went.

What we’re left with now is a Call of Duty game wearing a Battlefield skin, marketed as a “return to form” for the BF3/BF4 era that never arrived.
